Drs. William and Kristin Foley Participate in Osteopathic Cranial Academy Annual Conference

This June, Drs. William and Kristin Foley traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend the Osteopathic Cranial Academy’s (OCA) annual conference, Development of Cranium and Face: Newborn to Adult. The conference brought together osteopathic physicians from across the country for an in-depth exploration of cranial development throughout the human lifespan, combining the latest understanding of anatomy, physiology, and osteopathic principles with extensive hands-on learning.

 

In addition to participating in the educational sessions, Drs. Foley served as table trainers throughout the conference. In this role, they assisted participants in mastering the hands-on osteopathic cranial techniques and treatment modalities presented by the faculty. Table trainers play a vital role in helping attendees refine their palpatory skills and deepen their understanding of the concepts being taught, ensuring that participants can confidently apply these approaches in clinical practice.

 

The conference also provided an opportunity to look ahead to the future of osteopathic cranial education. Dr. William Foley delivered a presentation introducing the Osteopathic Cranial Academy’s 2027 annual conference, for which he will serve as Program Chair. The conference, titled Communicating with the Living Digestive System, will explore the dynamic relationship between the digestive system and the body’s self-regulatory mechanisms through the lens of osteopathic medicine.

 

Dr. Foley’s presentation offered attendees an early glimpse into the innovative themes and educational opportunities planned for the 2027 meeting. As Program Chair, he is working with leading educators and clinicians to develop a program that will provide participants with both scientific insight and practical clinical applications.
