Dr. Kristin Foley recently published the article, “Histopathology of Periarticular Non-Hereditary Heterotopic Ossification” in the journal Bone, on Dec 7 2017. It is an histological examination of how injury can cause formation of bone near and within joints. This research was conducted in part by Dr. K. Foley during her work at University of Pennsylvania. It is the first systematic evaluation of the predominant histopathological findings associated with multiple forms of non-hereditary heterotypic ossification showing they share a common formation mechanism.
